There will be a one-song Qualifying round For Heavy and a separate Qualifying round for Standard (qualifying will not determin who drops to Standard and who stays in Heavy). Perfects +2, Greats +1, OK’s+2. Qualifying to be used for brackets. On the day of the tournament 1 song from the list will be chosen and everyone will play that song for qualification.

Standard/Heavy Rules:
1) All competitors must be respectful towards the machine, other competitors, and the arcade.
2) Rounds will be played 1 on 1; 3 songs; double elimination.
3) No competitor should ever have to touch the machine. Songs and Mods will be selected by the judges at all times. If a player touches the machine without judge permission, it is grounds for disqualification.
4) Competitor must be present when round starts. A grace period (three minutes) will be given but if the competitor fails to show, they will forfeit the round.
5) The first song will be chosen by Player 1, the second song will be chosen by Player 2 while the third song will be selected by the ‘random’ button.
6) A competitor may only pick a song once. Meaning no one competitor may pick the same song twice for the duration of the tournament.
7) Allowed Mods: All Speeds, Boost, Hidden, Sudden, Dark, Flat, Scroll Reverse, and Shuffle. Solo is allowed only if both competitors agree to its use. No extra points will be awarded for the use of the allowed Mods.
Competitors must play on level signed up for (no light or beginner. Oni steps allowed on Oni-only songs (Sexy Planet From Nonstop Megamix, Still In My Heart Momo Mix, etc).
9) Using the bar is allowed.
10) No pushing, tripping, or any other intentional foul play. If judges suspect intentional foul play a warning will be issued after the song, third warning results in immediate disqualification of tournament.
11) Waiting/watching competitors are not to disturb the competitors currently playing.
12) Scoring will be based on Dancing Points: Perfects +2, Greats +1, Goods +0, Boos -4, Misses -8, OKs +6.
Freestyle Rules:
1) No competitor should ever have to touch the machine. Songs and Mods will be selected by the judges at all times. If a player touches the machine without judge permission, it is grounds for disqualification.
2) Freestyle competitors (team or individual) must have a minimum of two dance routines.
3) If competitors fail to show when it’s their turn the competitor will be placed at the end of the list and have to wait.
3) Competitors may play on any skill level (excluding beginner) and use any Mods they please.
4) Each competitor (team or individual) will have one chance to perform one routine for a panel of three judges. After the routine is completed the judges will present their scores.
5) Competitors (group or individual) are free to improvise their routine on the spot (not recommended unless you are REALLY good at improvising).
6) The use of the bar, machine, or any other props are allowed. However damage to the machine will result in immediate disqualification and authorities will be notified.
7) After all competitors have performed one routine the top three scores will be selected to perform their second routine. First, second, and third place will be determined from the scores attained after these three performances. |
